VisitLyft Teams Up with Mobileye Drive and May Mobility to Launch Autonomous Ride-Hailing Across North America in 2025
Nov 6, 2024, 02:09 PM
Lyft Inc. has announced new partnerships with autonomous vehicle technology companies Mobileye, May Mobility, and Nexar to integrate self-driving cars into its ride-hailing platform. Leveraging Mobileye's 'Mobileye Drive' system and Lyft's extensive rider network of over 40 million users, the alliance aims to enable large-scale deployment of autonomous vehicle fleets across North America. Starting in 2025, Lyft plans to launch autonomous vehicles equipped with the Mobileye Drive system, allowing customers to order self-driving cars through its app. May Mobility, an autonomous vehicle startup, will launch its services in Atlanta, further expanding Lyft's autonomous offerings. Nexar, a smart dashcam firm, will contribute its expertise to enhance the safety and efficiency of the autonomous fleets. This move marks Lyft's effort to catch up in the driverless ride-hailing market as it joins forces with industry-leading fleet operators to commercialize autonomous vehicle services.
