Louisiana has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas after a Chinese national, who illegally entered the United States, was found in Louisiana with a rare, aggressive, and drug-resistant form of tuberculosis. The individual, transferred to ICE custody, may have exposed hundreds of people to the disease. The lawsuit, led by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill and Governor Jeff Landry, alleges that the mishandling of the case by DHS and ICE threatens the health and safety of Louisiana residents.
