Lionsgate Signs First-of-its-Kind AI Deal with Runway, Integrates AI in 'John Wick' Production

Lions Gate Entertainment has announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with generative AI startup Runway to integrate AI technology into its film and TV production processes. The collaboration will focus on developing a new AI model tailored to Lionsgate’s extensive catalog, which includes 20K film and TV titles and popular franchises such as 'John Wick,' 'The Hunger Games,' and 'Twilight.' The AI model will initially be used for internal purposes like storyboarding and special effects, with the expectation of saving 'millions and millions of dollars.' Additionally, Lionsgate and Runway plan to license this AI model to other studios in the future, further extending its use in the entertainment industry.
