Lions Gate Entertainment has entered into a partnership with generative AI startup Runway to integrate AI technology into its film and TV production processes. The collaboration focuses on developing a new AI model tailored to Lionsgate’s extensive catalog of over 20,000 titles, including franchises such as 'John Wick,' 'The Hunger Games,' and 'Twilight.' This initiative aims to enhance cinematic video production, improve efficiency, and reduce costs, potentially saving the studio millions of dollars. The AI will initially be used for internal purposes like storyboarding and special effects. Additionally, Lionsgate and Runway plan to license the AI model to other studios in the future.
