This partnership will integrate generative AI technology into the creation of new movies and TV shows. The collaboration focuses on developing a custom AI model, Gen-3 Alpha, tailored to Lionsgate's extensive catalog of over 20,000 film and TV titles. The AI will initially be used for internal purposes like storyboarding and special effects, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs, potentially saving the studio millions of dollars. Additionally, Lionsgate and Runway plan to license this AI model to other entertainment companies in the future.
