VisitLions' Sack Leader Aidan Hutchinson Suffers Severe Leg Injury in Third Quarter Against Cowboys
Oct 13, 2024, 10:28 PM
Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a significant leg injury during the third quarter of a game against the Dallas Cowboys. The injury occurred while Hutchinson was sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, causing his leg to awkwardly collide with a teammate. Hutchinson was immediately fitted with an air cast and carted off the field. The injury is described as gruesome, with the lower part of his left leg appearing to be severely damaged. Hutchinson, who is the NFL's sack leader with 6.5 sacks this season, was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. The entire Lions team, as well as players from the Cowboys, gathered around him in a show of support. Hutchinson's cart went directly to the tunnel where an ambulance was waiting, and he was likely taken to a hospital. Hutchinson's injury is a significant blow to the Lions, who were leading the game 47-9 at the time.
