VisitLinkedIn Uses User Data to Train Microsoft, OpenAI AI Models by Default
Sep 18, 2024, 05:35 PM
LinkedIn has updated its AI training policy 7 days ago, enabling the platform to use user data to train its AI models, including those of Microsoft and OpenAI, by default. This change was implemented without explicit user consent and before updating its terms of service. Users have the option to opt out of this data usage through their settings. The policy update has raised privacy concerns, especially as it affects LinkedIn's 800 million users globally, with the exception of those in the EU, EEA, and Switzerland. LinkedIn has stated that it will update its terms of service shortly to reflect this change. The new setting pertains to generative AI, and the issue was first reported by 404 Media.
