VisitLinkedIn Uses User Data to Train Microsoft, OpenAI AI Models by Default
Sep 18, 2024, 06:25 PM
LinkedIn has updated its AI training policy 7 days ago to automatically use user data for training its generative AI models, including those of Microsoft and OpenAI. This change occurred without explicit user consent and before updating its terms of service. LinkedIn has confirmed that the AI training is on by default, but users have the option to opt out through their settings. This policy has raised privacy concerns, especially as it affects a large portion of LinkedIn's 800 million users. The opt-out option is available to users in the U.S., but not in the EU, EEA, or Switzerland. The news was first reported by 404 Media.
