VisitLil Durk Arrested in Florida; Faces Death Penalty Over Murder-for-Hire Linked to Lul Pab's Killing
Oct 25, 2024, 06:20 AM
Chicago rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Devontay Banks, has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in Broward County, Florida, on federal murder-for-hire charges. He is being held without bond at the Broward County Correctional Facility pending extradition to California. The arrest is connected to an alleged plot in August 2022 to assassinate Georgia-based rapper Quando Rondo in Los Angeles, in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von in Atlanta. The attempt resulted in the death of Quando Rondo's cousin and friend, Saviay'a Robinson, known as Lul Pab, while Quando Rondo was uninjured. Five individuals from Chicago—OTF DeDe, OTF Vonni, OTF Boogie, and two others—have also been charged with murder-for-hire and use of a machine gun. The indictment alleges that all five have ties to "Only the Family" (OTF), a collective founded by Lil Durk. If convicted, Lil Durk faces life imprisonment or the death penalty.
