The Liberal Democrats, led by Sir Ed Davey, have achieved their best election result in over a century, securing more than 70 seats in the 2024 UK general election. This significant victory includes winning three seats previously held by former Conservative Prime Ministers Theresa May, Boris Johnson, and David Cameron. Sir Ed Davey celebrated the results with supporters in London, dancing to 'Sweet Caroline' and expressing gratitude for the public's support. The party also won Kingston and Surbiton, and Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper retained her St Albans seat, emphasizing the party's commitment to championing the needs of the public. The Liberal Democrats have now become the third biggest party in the UK.
