VisitLib Dems Secure First Seat of the Night in Harrogate and Knaresborough with Massive Swing and 8,000 Vote Majority

The Liberal Democrats have secured their first seat of the night by winning Harrogate and Knaresborough from the Conservatives. The Lib Dem candidate, Tom Gordon, defeated the incumbent Andrew Jones with a majority of more than 8,000 votes. The final vote tally was Lib Dems: 23,976, Conservatives: 15,738, Reform UK: 5,679, Labour: 4,153, and Greens: 1,762. This victory represents a massive swing of 15.9% from the Tories, who previously held a majority of nearly 10,000 votes.
