A SAG-AFTRA member since 1966, Charleson joined "General Hospital" in 1977 and became the show's longest-tenured cast member, portraying Monica Quartermaine for nearly 50 years and appearing in over 2,000 episodes. She was considered the heart of the Quartermaine family and a beloved matriarch by generations of viewers. The SAG-AFTRA organization stated, "We celebrate the legacy of daytime TV matriarch Leslie Charleson."
