VisitLeBron James Surpasses Michael Jordan's 30-Point Game Record with 563 Games in Lakers' Win Over Hawks
Jan 4, 2025, 05:36 AM
LeBron James, who turned 40 last week, has surpassed Michael Jordan to become the NBA's all-time leader in 30-point games, achieving his 563rd such game during the Los Angeles Lakers' 119-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. James scored 30 points in the game, breaking Jordan's record of 562 games set in 2003. This milestone was reached in James' 22nd season and his 1,523rd game, compared to Jordan's 15 seasons when he set the record. Alongside James, Anthony Davis, who missed the previous game due to injury management, contributed 18 points and 19 rebounds, while Austin Reaves added 20 points to the Lakers' effort. The Lakers have now secured their 20th win of the season and have won seven of their last nine games, improving their standing to fourth in the Western Conference. Trae Young led the Hawks with 33 points in the loss, their second consecutive defeat during a six-game road trip.
