LeBron James Named First Male Basketball Player as Team USA Flag Bearer for Paris Olympics

LeBron James has been selected as the male flag bearer for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. This marks the first time a male basketball player has received this honor. James, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and four-time NBA champion, will lead the American athletes in the Parade of Nations on Friday. He joins previous U.S. basketball flag bearers Dawn Staley (2004) and Sue Bird (2021). The female flag bearer who will accompany James will be announced on Tuesday. James was voted by his peers for this role, and the announcement was made on the TODAY Show.
