VisitLas Vegas Raiders' Brock Bowers Breaks NFL Record with 1,088 Receiving Yards, Surpassing Mike Ditka's Rookie Tight End Mark
Dec 29, 2024, 07:13 PM
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has broken the NFL record for the most receiving yards by a rookie tight end, surpassing the mark set by Mike Ditka in 1961. Bowers achieved this feat with 1,088 receiving yards, eclipsing Ditka's total of 1,076 yards. The record-breaking performance occurred during a game against the New Orleans Saints. Bowers, who has also recorded 101 catches this season, is now just four receptions away from breaking the overall rookie catch record set by Puka Nacua with 105 catches. His outstanding season has seen him earn NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors for November, where he recorded 32 receptions for 349 yards and three touchdowns. Bowers has also broken the rookie tight end receptions record previously set by Sam LaPorta with 87 catches, and he is the third rookie tight end to reach the 1,000-yard mark, joining Ditka and Kyle Pitts.
