VisitLancaster County, Pennsylvania Finds 2,500 Fraudulent Voter Registrations; DA Launches Investigation
Oct 25, 2024, 05:28 PM
Lancaster County officials in Pennsylvania have uncovered and halted a suspected voter registration fraud operation involving approximately 2,500 applications submitted in two batches near the registration deadline. The fraudulent registrations were identified by the county's Board of Elections after staff members noticed numerous applications with similar handwriting and other irregularities, many dated August 15. District Attorney Heather Adams announced that of the investigations completed so far, 60% of the applications have been determined to be fraudulent. An investigation is underway to determine the extent of the fraud and to identify those responsible. The majority of the applications were from residents in the same area and appeared to have been filled out by paid canvassers. Similar fraudulent registration activities have also been reported in other Pennsylvania counties. Election officials emphasized that the fraudulent registrations were intercepted before any votes were cast, ensuring the integrity of the upcoming election.
