Taylor Swift was granted a blue-light police escort through London after interventions from top Labour politicians, including Sadiq Khan and Yvette Cooper. The Metropolitan Police initially declined the request but later provided the escort to her Wembley concerts. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy denied that Labour personally intervened, stating that the police made the decision. However, she confirmed that the Home Secretary discussed Taylor Swift's security with the Met Police. The controversy also involves allegations that Sadiq Khan and other Labour politicians received free tickets to Swift's concerts after the royal-style escort was arranged. John Rentoul commented that it was not unreasonable for Swift to have a blue-light escort.
