VisitLabour Outpaces Tories in Fundraising, Raising £8.6 Million, £3 Million in a Week
Jun 28, 2024, 03:07 PM
The latest figures from the Electoral Commission reveal that Labour has significantly outpaced the Conservative Party in fundraising during the first three weeks of the election campaign. Labour raised £8.6 million, while the Tories managed only £1.2 million. In the third week alone, Labour collected £3,309,918 compared to the Tories' £375,000. Labour's substantial lead includes a £500,000 donation in artwork from Antony Gormley. The Conservative Party's largest donor is an ex-minister funding their own campaign. Labour received £2.9 million more than the Tories in donations. The Tories have raised barely a tenth of what they had managed by this point in 2019.
