VisitKremlin Denies 'False' Reports of Trump-Putin Call on Ukraine War
Nov 11, 2024, 09:19 AM
Reports from The Washington Post claim that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Thursday from his resort in Florida, discussing the conflict in Ukraine and advising Putin not to escalate the situation. Trump reportedly reminded Putin of Washington's sizable military presence in Europe. The call was allegedly conducted without the involvement of the U.S. State Department, and Ukraine was not informed in advance. The Kremlin, however, has denied that such a conversation took place, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov calling the reports 'pure fiction' and 'false information.' Ukraine's Foreign Ministry also stated that it was not informed of any such call.
