Jun 14, 2024, 06:30 AM
Kirin Holdings has announced plans to acquire Japanese skincare and dietary supplement company Fancl. The acquisition will be executed through a tender offer, with Kirin offering 2,690 yen per share for Fancl. The total cost of the acquisition is approximately $1.39 billion (220.7 billion yen), although some sources report the deal at $1.3 billion and others at over $1.4 billion. This move is part of Kirin's strategy to diversify its business amid a stagnant beer market. Once the acquisition is complete, Fancl will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Kirin.
