VisitKings Acquire DeMar DeRozan in $76M+ Sign-and-Trade Deal with Bulls, Spurs Involved
Jul 7, 2024, 02:21 AM
The Sacramento Kings have emerged as the frontrunners in acquiring DeMar DeRozan through a sign-and-trade deal with the Chicago Bulls. The deal, which requires a third team to facilitate, involves the San Antonio Spurs. DeRozan, who has officially moved on from the Bulls and will not re-sign, will join the Kings on a three-year, $76M+ contract. The Kings aim to bolster their offensive lineup by adding DeRozan alongside De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. The Spurs will receive Harrison Barnes and Chris Duarte as part of the trade. Buddy Hield is also involved in the transaction. DeRozan was introduced to Kings fans at the Golden 1 Center during the California Classic, accompanied by Kings owner Vivek Ranadive. This move marks a significant shift in the Kings' strategy to compete in the Western Conference.
