VisitKing Charles Receives First Ever Sycamore Gap Seedling on Celebration Day
May 27, 2024, 01:02 PM
King Charles has been presented with the first ever seedling grown from the Sycamore Gap tree by the National Trust to mark Celebration Day. The tree, which was illegally felled nearly eight months ago in an act of vandalism, has been symbolically revived through this seedling. The King, who is the Patron of the National Trust, plans to plant the sapling in Windsor Great Park. This gesture aims to honor the lives of those who have shaped us and to symbolize hope and beauty emerging from loss.
