Kim Jong Un Tests Advanced 240 mm Rocket Launcher, Deployment Set for This Year

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently supervised the testing and attended the test firing of an advanced artillery weapon system, specifically a modernized 240 mm multiple rocket launcher with an automatic fire control system. This system, designed to enhance artillery effectiveness, underwent a live-fire test. Reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), these tests are part of North Korea's ongoing military development. The new systems are scheduled to be introduced to the North Korean armed forces between 2024 and 2026 and are planned to be deployed starting this year. This marks the third such test in 2024 as the country prepares for the deployment of these weapons.
