Kiernan Hughes-Mason, a former Millwall footballer, has been convicted of child cruelty after violently assaulting a two-year-old girl. The assault inflicted 17 serious injuries on the child, leaving her with life-changing brain injuries and requiring round-the-clock care. Hughes-Mason had texted a friend saying 'I'm gonna hit her' prior to the incident. The Essex Police confirmed the conviction of the 32-year-old man from Westcliff-on-Sea.
