VisitKhmelnytskyi Medical and Pension Officials Found with $6 Million in Mobilization Bribes
Oct 4, 2024, 10:55 AM
Ukrainian law enforcement officers have discovered nearly $6 million in cash during a search of the homes of two high-ranking regional officials affiliated with President Zelensky's party in the Khmelnytskyi region. The officials are a mother and son duo; the mother is the head of the Medical and Social Expert Commission, and her son is the head of the local Pension Fund. They are accused of accepting bribes to help men evade military mobilization by providing false medical documents. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported finding money hidden throughout the apartment in wardrobes, drawers, and niches. In an attempt to conceal evidence, the officials allegedly threw $500,000 out of a window during the search.
