VisitKentucky Football and Swimming Programs Penalized by NCAA, Football to Vacate Wins, Two-Year Probation
Aug 2, 2024, 04:06 PM
The University of Kentucky's football and swimming programs have been found to have committed NCAA rules violations. The NCAA Committee on Infractions announced that the football program will vacate wins from the 2021 season due to players receiving payments for work not performed at UK Healthcare. This involves at least 11 football players who were paid for jobs they did not work between spring 2021 and March 2022. As a result, the football program has been placed on a two-year probation but will not have to sit out any bowl games. The swimming program was also found to have run unsanctioned practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. The violations were classified as a Level II case, and the Committee on Infractions decided to separate the cases of the football and swimming programs.
