Kei Nishikori marked his return to Grand Slam tennis with a dramatic victory over 22-year-old Gabriel Diallo at Roland Garros. In his first Grand Slam match since 2021, Nishikori won 7-5, 7-6(3), 3-6, 1-6, 7-5 in a grueling 4-hour and 22-minute contest. Despite not playing for almost three years, Nishikori showcased his resilience and skill, saving set points in both the first and second sets. Nishikori broke back for 1-1 in the 5th set after 3 hours and 40 minutes of play. This match also marked his first win at any level since August. Nishikori now awaits the winner of the match between Shelton and Gaston.
