The allotments were made to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, in 2021. The court's decision upholds the Governor's sanction for prosecution, stating that the Governor is the competent authority to make such decisions in exceptional cases. This ruling is seen as a significant setback for Siddaramaiah, who plans to challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court. The BJP has called for Siddaramaiah's resignation following the court's decision.
