Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is scheduled to visit the United States on a private visit from September 8 to 16, primarily to Washington. Initial reports suggested that Shivakumar had received an invitation from U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama for meetings in New York. However, Shivakumar's office has clarified that while a request for a meeting was made to Kamala Harris, there has been no confirmation from the U.S. side.
