VisitKansas Upsets No. 6 BYU 17-13 in Provo; All Big 12 Teams Now Have Loss
Nov 17, 2024, 06:26 AM
Kansas upset previously unbeaten No. 6 BYU 17-13 in Provo, ending the Cougars' perfect season. The Jayhawks secured the win with a go-ahead and eventual game-winning score following a pooch punt from quarterback Jalon Daniels that hit a BYU player and was recovered by Kansas. Despite BYU's Marque Collins intercepting Daniels earlier in the game, the Cougars were unable to capitalize. BYU quarterback Jake Retzlaff played through a left shoulder injury. The defeat leaves all teams in the Big 12 conference with at least one loss, introducing tie-breaker scenarios into the standings. This marks the second consecutive year Kansas has defeated a top-6 team under coach Lance Leipold.
