VisitKamala Harris Taps Biden Campaign Chair Jen O'Malley Dillon to Run Presidential Campaign
Jul 22, 2024, 11:20 PM
Vice President Kamala Harris has announced that Jen O'Malley Dillon, who previously ran President Joe Biden's successful 2020 campaign and was chairing his 2024 campaign, will now run her presidential campaign. Harris made the announcement from Wilmington headquarters, stating that O'Malley Dillon has accepted the offer. This move comes as Harris secures key endorsements from top Democrats, including Governors Gavin Newsom, J.B. Pritzker, and Gretchen Whitmer, as well as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The Arkansas Democratic delegates and the Texas House Democratic Caucus have also officially endorsed Harris' bid for president. Harris has secured 75% of the delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination, positioning her as the frontrunner after Biden's withdrawal. Harris has asked Julie Chavez Rodriguez to stay on as she is poised to become the Democratic nominee.
