Kamala Harris has officially become the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee for the 2024 presidential election. Harris secured the nomination after surpassing the required 1,976 delegate votes out of 3,949 total. This development follows just 31 hours after President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race. Harris will be facing former President Donald J. Trump in the upcoming November election. California delegates played a significant role, with 496 delegates from her home state endorsing her candidacy. Harris also raised $231 million during this period.
