Jupiter Launches $612 Million JUP Token Airdrop to Over 2 Million Wallets, Offers 3-Month Claim Window
Jan 22, 2025, 12:46 PM
Jupiter, a Solana-based decentralized exchange, has initiated its largest airdrop to date, distributing 700 million JUP tokens valued at approximately $612 million to over 2 million eligible wallets. The airdrop, part of the annual 'Jupuary' event, began at 15:30 UTC on Wednesday. Despite the excitement, the JUP token experienced a 2% decline over the past 24 hours, trading at $0.87 at the time of the airdrop announcement. Jupiter has advised users to take their time claiming tokens due to potential network congestion on Solana, with a three-month window provided for claims. Participants are required to create a Jupiter profile and claim tokens for each eligible wallet individually. This airdrop follows a governance vote in December, which also approved a similar event for 2026.
