VisitJudge Boulware Grants Preliminary Approval for $375 Million Le v. Zuffa UFC Antitrust Settlement
Oct 22, 2024, 10:08 PM
A Nevada judge, Judge Boulware, has granted preliminary approval for a $375 million settlement in the antitrust lawsuit filed by former UFC fighters against Zuffa LLC, the parent company of UFC. The lawsuit, known as Le v. Zuffa, covers fighters who competed from December 2010 to June 2017. The settlement, which still requires final approval, marks a significant step in addressing the claims of unfair business practices by the UFC. The net payout to fighters, after legal fees, is estimated between $240 million and $260 million. Eric Cramer, the lead attorney representing the fighters, noted the importance of this decision. This case is the first of two major antitrust lawsuits against the UFC, with a second case still pending where injunctive relief is on the table.
