VisitJudge Adjourns Trump's Sentencing in Hush Money Case Indefinitely as Court Reviews Presidential Immunity
Nov 19, 2024, 03:56 PM
Donald Trump's scheduled November 26 sentencing in his New York hush money case has been adjourned indefinitely by the court. Judge Juan Merchan postponed the sentencing without providing an explanation. The adjournment follows the judge's request last week for additional responses from the defense and prosecution on how to proceed after Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election. The court is reviewing whether presidential immunity shields Trump in this case. Trump was convicted in May on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
