Jordan Chiles, an American gymnast, has been ordered to return her Olympic bronze medal in the floor exercise after an appeal by Romania was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The appeal challenged the timing of a scoring inquiry made by Chiles' coach, Cecile Landi, which was found to be submitted four seconds past the one-minute deadline. As a result, Chiles' score was adjusted back to 13.666 from 13.766, which initially placed her in the bronze medal position. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided to reallocate the bronze medal to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu. However, USA Gymnastics has submitted video evidence claiming the inquiry was made within the allowed time and plans to appeal the CAS ruling. The US Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) also plans to appeal the decision.
