VisitJon Watts Cancels 'Wolfs 2' After Apple Scraps Clooney-Pitt Film's Theatrical Release
Nov 23, 2024, 04:55 PM
Director Jon Watts has announced that the sequel to 'Wolfs', starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, has been canceled at Apple TV+. The decision comes three months after Apple inked a deal with Watts to develop the sequel. Watts revealed that he no longer trusts Apple as a creative partner after they canceled the theatrical release of the first film, opting to release it directly on Apple TV+, and announced the sequel without his consent despite his request not to do so. He quietly returned the money provided for the sequel and stated he would not proceed under these circumstances. The first film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and currently holds a 66% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
