Oct 4, 2024, 03:18 PM
'Joker: Folie à Deux' is tracking to earn $140 million in its opening weekend worldwide, significantly less than the $249 million grossed by its predecessor. Domestically, the sequel is projected to open with $55 million to $60 million, down from the initial $70 million projection and well below the $96.2 million opening of the first film. The movie earned $7 million from Thursday previews, almost 50% less than the $13.3 million earned by the original 'Joker'. Warner Bros. projects the opening weekend to be around $50 million, comparable to last year’s 'The Flash'. Early reviews and fan buzz are mixed, with a low Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 37%. The budget was $200 million.
