VisitJets' Haason Reddick, With 51 Sacks, Requests Trade Amid Contract Dispute
Aug 12, 2024, 06:41 PM
Haason Reddick, an All-Pro pass rusher for the New York Jets, has requested a trade from the team amid a contract stalemate. Reddick, who has been holding out since training camp, was acquired by the Jets in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles less than five months ago. The Jets traded a conditional 2026 third-round pick, which could become a second-rounder, to acquire Reddick. Despite joining the team, Reddick has not participated in any games or practices, as he has been seeking a new contract. Reddick's current contract is set to earn him $14.25 million in its final year, but his performance and market value suggest a valuation of over $26 million per year. He has recorded 51 sacks in his last 66 games and has consistently posted strong performances, with no season having less than 11 sacks since 2020. The situation remains unresolved as Reddick seeks to move to another team.
