VisitJets Fire Head Coach Robert Saleh After London Loss, Woody Johnson Announces
Oct 8, 2024, 04:12 PM
The New York Jets have fired head coach Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start to the season, following a loss in London. This marks the first in-season coaching change by Jets owner Woody Johnson in his 25-year tenure. Saleh, who had a final record of 20-36 with the Jets, was informed of the decision by Johnson upon arriving at the team's facility. The firing comes amid reports of tension between Saleh and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who had criticized Saleh's leadership in recent weeks. Despite the firing, the Jets do not plan to part ways with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been named interim head coach. Johnson expressed confidence that the team can still have a successful season and highlighted the talent on the roster.
