Oct 20, 2024, 10:53 PM
Founded in August 2022, Perplexity AI, an artificial intelligence search company, has begun fundraising talks to raise around $500 million, aiming to more than double its valuation to $8 billion or more, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal. The company's Series A round was led by NEA in March 2023 at a $124 million pre-money valuation. Perplexity was previously valued at $3 billion a few months ago and $520 million in January. The company's annualized revenue has reportedly increased to approximately $50 million from $10 million in March. This would be its fourth funding round within a year. Jeff Bezos is among the backers of Perplexity AI.
