Dec 30, 2024, 05:00 AM
Jayden Daniels, the rookie quarterback for the Washington Commanders, has set a new NFL record for the most rushing yards by a rookie quarterback in a single season, surpassing Robert Griffin III's previous record of 815 yards. Daniels achieved this milestone during the Commanders' 30-24 overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons, where he recorded 127 rushing yards, bringing his season total to 820. This win secured the Commanders a playoff berth for the first time since 2020. In addition to his rushing record, Daniels also threw three touchdown passes in the game, including the game-winning touchdown to Zach Ertz in overtime. His performance has been pivotal in leading the Commanders to an 11-5 record, with Daniels now being a strong contender for NFL Rookie of the Year.
