Dec 30, 2024, 06:04 PM
Jason Momoa has been officially cast as Lobo, his favorite DC Comics character, in DC Studios' upcoming film "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. The film, directed by Craig Gillespie, will begin filming on January 13, 2025. Momoa confirmed the casting by sharing a previous interview with Fandango in which he expressed interest in playing Lobo, accompanied by the caption "They called." Lobo, an anti-hero and alien mercenary from the planet Czarnia, first appeared in DC comics in 1983. This role marks Momoa's return to the DC Universe in a new role, transitioning from his previous portrayal of Aquaman. He will star alongside Milly Alcock as Supergirl, with additional cast members including Matthias Schoenaerts and Eve Ridley.
