A Japanese primary school student was stabbed by a man in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, on the morning of September 18, 2024. The boy was attacked on his way to the Shenzhen Japanese School and has been hospitalized. This incident marks the second knife attack on Japanese nationals in China in recent months, following a previous attack in Suzhou. The suspected attacker has been detained, and the case is currently under investigation by Chinese authorities. Japan's Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroshi Moriya confirmed the attack, which coincided with the 93rd anniversary of the Mukden incident. China's Foreign Ministry stated that they will continue to take effective measures to ensure the safety of foreign nationals in China.
