VisitJapanese Destroyer Suzutsuki Enters Chinese Waters, Captain Dismissed

A Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) destroyer, the Suzutsuki, inadvertently entered Chinese territorial waters in July despite repeated warnings from Chinese vessels. The vessel traveled within 12 miles of Zhejiang Province. Tokyo has apologized to Beijing for the incident, attributing it to a navigational error. The captain of the destroyer has been dismissed over the serious error.
