Nov 29, 2024, 01:07 AM
The Japanese government has announced plans to allocate significant funding to support its semiconductor and advanced electronic components industries. As part of the supplementary budget for the fiscal year, the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) will provide up to 100 billion yen to support eight projects, including those related to SiC power semiconductors and other advanced technologies. Additionally, the government plans to allocate over 1.5 trillion yen to bolster the domestic semiconductor industry. Another 160 billion yen will be dedicated to supporting Japanese companies in securing copper mining rights. These measures are part of broader efforts to strengthen Japan's industrial competitiveness and supply chain resilience.
