VisitJannik Sinner Reaches First US Open Final, Defeats Draper 7-5, 7-6(3), 6-2
Sep 6, 2024, 10:22 PM
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has reached his first US Open final after defeating Britain's Jack Draper in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6(3), 6-2. This victory marks Sinner's second Grand Slam final of the year, having won the Australian Open earlier in 2024. Sinner will face the winner of the match between Americans Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. Sinner is the first Italian man to reach the US Open singles final and has an impressive record in 2024, including 13-0 in hardcourt Slams, 22-2 in Slam matches, 54-5 overall, and 74-7 since 2023. Draper, who had not dropped a set all tournament, fought hard but ultimately could not overcome Sinner's dominance. This also marks Sinner's 11th win in a row.
