Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs opened the scoring against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football with a 25-yard touchdown run, capping a nine-play, 78-yard drive that gave the Lions a 7-0 lead with 1:43 remaining in the first quarter. This touchdown marked Gibbs' 17th of the season, tying the Lions' single-season record held by Jamaal Williams (2022) and Barry Sanders (1991). Additionally, Gibbs joins Edgerrin James as the only running backs to achieve 27 touchdowns, 2,200 rushing yards, and 800 receiving yards within their first two seasons.
