VisitJaguars Fire Coach Doug Pederson; GM Baalke to Lead Coaching Search
Jan 6, 2025, 01:25 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Doug Pederson after three seasons, following a disappointing 4-13 season that ended with an overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Owner Shad Khan announced the decision and stated, "I will collaborate with General Manager Trent Baalke and others... to hire a leader who shares my ambition and is ready to seize the extraordinary opportunity we will offer in Jacksonville." Despite leading the Jaguars to one playoff victory during his tenure, Pederson ends his time in Jacksonville with a 22-29 record, including 18 losses in the last 23 games. Trent Baalke will remain as general manager and assist in the search for a new head coach. Potential candidates reportedly include NFL coordinators Liam Coen and Todd Monken, as well as college coaches Marcus Freeman and Matt Campbell.
