VisitJacksonville Approves $1.4 Billion EverBank Stadium Renovation to Keep Jaguars Through 2028
Jun 25, 2024, 11:18 PM
The Jacksonville City Council has approved a $1.4 billion renovation plan for EverBank Stadium, which will keep the Jacksonville Jaguars in the city for at least another 30 years. The deal, which passed with a 14-1 vote, involves both the city and the Jaguars each contributing $625 million. The renovations, which will include adding a roof to the existing stadium, are expected to be completed by the 2028 NFL season. The city has committed $775 million to the project, which is set to transform downtown and its surrounding areas. During the renovation period, the Jaguars will play at EverBank Stadium for the next three years, then move to an alternate venue in 2027. The proposal now awaits final approval from NFL owners in October. The annual cocktail party will likely leave Jacksonville for the 2026-27 season.
